The design process
Total Engineering
BRTArchitecten wants to anticipate the developments of the future. So we have built up experience with the implementation of Total Engineering projects. We manage the entire process from design through to completion. From discussions with the clients to the programme of requirements and site management. In Total Engineering projects, the constructive design, installation consultancy and, for example, the acoustic consultancy are the architect's responsibility. The advantage is that we make an integrated design that brings together all the disciplines. This integrated approach safeguards quality, reduces failure costs and enhances the quality of the project. The result is a harmonious design that reflects the intentions of the client.
Integrated design
The BRTArchitecten integrated design process is a combination of information management, construction management, cost awareness, environmental awareness, value costing and creativity. We can save costs with integrated designing and by bringing together the experts and suppliers. We work through financial options and alternatives. At any given time, the client can decide about the optimal price-quality ratio.
BIM
We use the most up-to-date intelligent software as support for BIM (Building Information Model). That gives us the freedom to model, present, test and quantify construction products digitally and in a natural way. This is also the key to sustainable and integrated design, bringing together construction and installation technology in a single model. The model intensifies communications between the client and the architect, as well as communications between all the parties involved in the design process.
Changes in the design are automatically 'translated' for the rest of the project. The designs and documentation are kept consistent and complete; construction problems are identified at an early stage and costs are managed and controlled on a continuous basis.
The software used by BRTArchitecten is Revit Architecture, which is supported by Autodesk. That means files are easy to exchange with other software applications.
Quality assurance
We safeguard the quality of the services we supply by, for example, structuring our internal business processes. All our working methods, agreements and procedures are recorded and documented in accordance with our quality system. That applies both to communications between the design and field disciplines, and to communications between the architect, the client and users.
Communications
Good communications are the basis for every design challenge. The dialogue with the client, the user and other experts involved is a vital precondition. We listen and we translate. We engage in consultations and give shape to the wishes and demands of the client/user. There can be no meaningful architecture without a dialogue.
